Textron Subsidiary Awarded $97M Army Shadow UAS Contract Modification


RQ-7B Shadow droneA Textron (NYSE: TXT) subsidiary has received a $97.1 million contract modification to retrofit the U.S. Army‘s Shadow unmanned aircraft system data link.

Textron’s AAI Corp. will perform work in Hunt Valley, Maryland, through Oct. 31, 2018, as part of the full-rate production of the UAS’ seventh lot, the Defense Department said Friday.

The Army designates the UAS as the RQ-7B for use in reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting and assessment operations.

The Shadow ground control station provides real-time imagery and telemetry data to the joint surveillance and target attack radar system, all-sources analysis system and advanced field artillery tactical data system.
