Rolls-Royce Solutions America will serve as the principal contractor.
Israel FMS Details
The Israeli government’s request covers additional Eitan 8V199TE21-D powerpack engines and engine components. The Middle Eastern nation also purchased Eitan 8V199TE21-D powerpack engines, components, technical assistance, engineering and program support, and logistics services in a previous FMS valued at $85.5 million.
According to DCSA, the powerpack engines will enhance Israel’s ability to defend its borders against present and future threats. The sale is also expected to increase interoperability between U.S. forces and the Israel Defense Forces.
Emergency Arms Sales
The FMS comes a few weeks after the Department of State approved two emergency FMS to Israel for over 35,000 MK 84 or BLU-117 general-purpose bomb bodies, 4,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads, 200 MK 83 bomb bodies, nearly 4,800 BLU-110 bomb bodies and 5,000 Joint Direct Attack Munition guidance kits. The combined value of the FMS was $2.7 billion, with General Dynamics, Ellwood National Forge, McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Repkon USA and Boeing serving as prime contractors.
Deliveries for the munitions are scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
