Kurt Bender, a seasoned executive experienced in digital transformation and service delivery, revealed on LinkedIn Tuesday that he has been promoted to vice president of global applications, IT quality & continuous improvement at BWX Technologies.
In his new role, Bender will spearhead BWXT’s enterprise applications strategy and operations while enhancing IT quality to boost system performance and operations. The executive previously served as the senior director of global applications before his recent promotion. In this capacity, Bender oversaw the business services and digital modernization ocompany’spany’s core business systems. He joined BWXT in 2023 as the director of information technology.
Before joining BWXT, Bender worked at BAE Systems as the senior director of digital transformation and architecture. He was the IT transformation and solutions architecture lead for the electronic systems sector. Bender served as senior director of digital engineering IT at L3Harris Technologies, where he spearheaded the delivery of engineering applications and product lifecycle management services.
The BWXT executive spent six years at Harris before its merger with L3 Technologies in 2019. He served as the IT segment leader and senior business relationship manager. He initially worked as a senior manager of PLM and engineering applications in his first five years at Harris.
Before rejoining the private sector, Bender taught at Purdue University Fort Wayne for four years. He was a professor of engineering technology project management.
Bender spent his first eight years of his career at ITT. He served as project manager from and systems integrator and developer.
