Amentum Lands $248M DOD Contract to Fight Illegal Financial Networks

Amentum has received a $247.6 million contract from the Department of Defense Air Combat Command Acquisition Management and Integration Center, Counternarcotics and Global Threats, or CN&GT, Division to combat financial threats against national interests.

Global Counter-Threat Finance Contract Scope

The global technical and engineering services provider said Monday it will help enhance the capabilities of the DOD and partner agencies to fight against financial systems and networks that affect national interests negatively.

Under the global counter-threat finance contract, Amentum is tasked with denying, disrupting, destroying or defeating the financial capabilities of transnational organized crime organizations, drug trafficking syndicates and terrorist groups by utilizing artificial intelligence/machine learning technology and advanced analytical approaches. Furthermore, Amentum will focus first on countering synthetic opioids supply chains and related money laundering schemes. The deputy assistant secretary of Defense Counternarcotics and Stabilization Policy will lead Amentum personnel in neutralizing illegal financial networks. 

The contract, under the CN&GT multi-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, operations and logistics pool, has a base period of performance of 96 months and a four-month transition period.
