Kathleen Hogan, Amy Coleman Assume New Responsibilities at Microsoft

Microsoft has shuffled its executive leadership team to optimize processes and better meet customers’ needs. In a blog post posted Wednesday, Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft, announced the new responsibilities of Kathleen Hogan, who will transition to executive vice president for the Office of Strategy and Transformation, and Amy Coleman, who will take on the role of EVP and chief people officer. 

Who is Kathleen Hogan?

Hogan is a long-time Microsoft executive. She previously served as chief people officer, a role she held for over 10 years. She was also appointed to the positions of corporate vice president for worldwide services and chief operating officer for worldwide sales during her early years at the technology company.

Before Microsoft, Hogan was a partner at McKinsey & Company and a development manager at Oracle. 

In addition to her work at Microsoft, the executive sits as a board member for Alaska Airlines. 

Get to Know Microsoft’s New Chief People Officer

Coleman succeeds Hogan as Microsoft’s chief people officer. Also a long-time leader at the Redmond, Washington-based company, Coleman held the roles of CVP of human resources and corporate functions, general manager, senior HR director, senior equity manager and compensation manager. 

Before Microsoft, she was the chief HR officer at Medio Systems, a Seattle-based software company, and an HR consultant for Curtis Consulting Group.
