HII’s Mission Technologies division has landed a $147 million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide shipboard and shore-based combat training support services.
Combat Training Support Contract Scope
The McLean, Virginia-based all-domain defense provider said Tuesday the five-year task order covers the delivery of engineering support for all training system elements under the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity.
Under the agreement, HII will provide the necessary hardware and software along with subsystems and other components. The company will also perform various tasks such as installing, certifying and testing integrated training system hardware and software, troubleshooting, doing repairs and managing lifecycle sustainment.
HII, which provides support to the naval fleet situated in bases and operational theaters worldwide, secured the task order through the SeaPort next generation multiple award contract indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle. It will work on the project at various local and international sites.
“Providing full-cycle support for U.S. Navy, joint, coalition and Department of Defense training systems requires a seamless, well-orchestrated approach and close collaboration with the Navy customer to make sure we’re providing the best quality service possible,” said Michael Lempke, president of global security at Mission Technologies.
Previous NSWCDD DNA Training Support Contracts
In 2023, HII booked a couple of contracts for the procurement of training systems support for the NSWCDD DNA. The five-year, $242 million task order awarded in May covers support for the Navy’s shore-based training systems, including the integration of a DevSecOps model to the hardware and software product development life cycle. HII also received a five-year, $134 million task order in October to provide training software development support.
