Lockheed Martin has appointedDaniel Nimblett, a more than two-decade company veteran, as vice president of integrated air and missile defense, or IAMD, layered homeland defense.
“I’ll be working with a brilliant and dedicated team to ensure a whole-of-industry approach in delivering an innovative next-generation missile defense shield for our nation,” Nimblett said in a LinkedIn post announcing his appointment.
Golden Dome
His appointment comes as Lockheed pursues the Trump administration’s Golden Dome project, which intends to quickly detect, track and counter hypersonic missiles, aerial threats, drone swarms and other threats using artificial intelligence and real-time data.
According to his profile on the professional networking site, Nimblett most recently served as VP of upper tier IAMD at Lockheed.
The senior program executive joined the aerospace and defense contractor in 1999 and held roles of increasing responsibility, including contracts negotiator, program manager for PAC-3 international engineering services and director of PAC-3 sustainment operations.
