Andrew Howard, a 15-year industry veteran, shared on LinkedIn Thursday that he has been appointed vice president of corporate capabilities and solutions at Astrion.
The executive will be responsible for developing an enterprise-wide strategy to drive the company’s growth in the federal sector. He will also oversee Astrion’s portfolio of capabilities and ensure it aligns with clients’ needs.
Howard brings extensive experience and knowledge in unmanned systems, defense technology, national security, advanced research and development and government capture management in his new role.
Andrew Howard’s Career Highlights
Howard worked at HII’s Mission Technologies division for over four years. He most recently served as senior director of uncrewed surface vessels and autonomy programs, where he oversaw the development and delivery of USV prototypes to the Navy. He was also the director of technology in his first years in the company.
At the same time, Howard served as a member of the board of directors of Computer CORE. He was mainly tasked with supervising the operations and strategic planning for the company. Before that, Howard worked at Perspecta for almost four years as the cognitive solutions chief architect and senior technical adviser.
The Astrion executive was the program manager for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he led 10 other project managers responsible for evaluating the impact of defense industrial base shortfalls on security. Howard also worked at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as the senior principal engineer. Earlier in his career, he worked as a systems engineer for both the Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory and BAE Systems.
