The U.S. Air Force has awarded 122 companies positions on the $46 billion Enterprise-Wide Agile Acquisition Contract, or EWAAC, as part of the fourth on-ramp to the procurement vehicle meant to support the rapid development of novel weapons capabilities.
The military branch unveiled the list of additional vendors on the EWAAC vehicle in an award notice published Thursday on SAM.gov.
In October, the service issued a solicitation for proposals to mark the fourth on-ramp to the acquisition vehicle.
In September 2021, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida initially selected 55 offerors for the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
What Is EWAAC?
EWAAC is an IDIQ contract designed to accelerate the acquisition process to speed up the delivery of innovative weapons systems to warfighters. It is expected to run through 2031.
The acquisition vehicle’s requirements include research and development, test and evaluation, production and fielding, prototyping, weapon design, system modeling and modernization.
According to the statement of objectives, the contract is focused on implementing digital acquisition and sustainment practices, including digital engineering, Agile processes and open system architecture. Work elements include armament systems development and enterprise analytics.
According to the EWAAC portal, there are 297 vendors on the contract vehicle.
