NSTXL Announces Leadership Changes

The National Security Technology Accelerator, or NSTXL, has announced several leadership appointments to improve operations and drive growth.

Shelley Tweedy’s Appointment as COO

NSTXL said Thursday Shelley Tweedy, who has been with the tech accelerator since 2020, has been appointed chief operations officer.

As COO, she will work closely with the executive team to identify M&A targets and new lines of business, promote cross-department collaboration, lead the implementation of high-priority initiatives and shape the organization’s corporate vision to drive strategic growth.

Aside from overseeing marketing and membership functions, Tweedy will lead the newly created program management department and the operations and strategy division.

She previously served as assistant vice president of marketing at DataBank.

Doug Crowe’s Promotion to SVP of Program Management

NSTXL has promoted Doug Crowe, former VP of S2MARTS, to senior VP of program management.

In this capacity, he will oversee the program management team, which includes the S2MARTS program, SpEC and Microelectronics Commons.

Crowe has over four decades of experience in defense research and development and engineering. He has led several critical defense programs, including Submarine Combat Systems, Marine Corps Air Defense programs and Above Water Sensor programs.

Tony Kestranek’s Appointment as VP of NSTXL, S2MARTS

Tony Kestranek, former deputy director for S2MARTS, will work with government partners to identify platforms for mission-critical prototyping efforts as VP of NSTXL, S2MARTS.

In his previous role, Kestranek helped drive the growth of the S2MARTS program and advance the delivery of innovative platforms to warfighters.

Prior to NSTXL, he was a program manager for Science Applications International Corp.’s Crane Operations C5ISR division.

Mike Brockly’s Appointment as VP of Operations & Strategy

Mike Brockly, who has over 15 years of experience supporting the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense, will serve as VP of operations and strategy.

In this capacity, Brockly will oversee the client success, business intelligence and capture management teams.

Michael Bush’s Promotion to Director of Client Success 

Michael Bush, most recently senior program manager at NSTXL, has been promoted to director of client success.

The U.S. Army veteran will lead the client success team, formerly NSTXL’s program/project success team. The team is responsible for enabling government customers to oversee project performance through proactive risk mitigation and real-time milestone tracking.

In 2022, he joined the accelerator as a space enterprise consortium program manager.

NSTXL said it will announce the VP of marketing in the coming weeks.
