Joe Corcoran Elevated to Hitachi Vantara Federal COO

Joe Corcoran has been promoted to chief operating officer at Hitachi Vantara Federal, where he previously served as senior director of services and delivery.

The company, which offers the federal government mission-centric data capabilities, said Monday Corcoran will leverage his over 20 years of experience in sales leadership and public sector operations to spearhead operational efforts supporting U.S. federal data services. In addition, he will oversee the strategic growth of the company’s services offerings in the federal marketplace. The new COO will report directly to Mark Serway, president and CEO of Hitachi Vantara Federal.

Serway, a 2024 Wash100 Award winner, expressed excitement over Corcoran’s promotion, saying, “His exceptional leadership and deep expertise in operational strategy position him well to enhance our organizational efficiency and accelerate growth. His dedication to delivering client-focused solutions and fostering innovation in government aligns seamlessly with our mission to improve the security and well-being of our nation.”

Joe Corcoran’s Career Specifics

Corcoran joined Hitachi Vantara Federal in January 2024 as senior director, driving the operations and growth strategy across the company’s services portfolio.

He also previously served as chief business officer at Dorrean for almost three years.

The business development executive spent almost 12 years at Govplace, where he held multiple leadership positions including senior vice president of service delivery, director of National Institutes of Health operations, strategic program development division lead and business development manager.

Corcoran was also a business development executive at IntelliDyne and senior defense analyst at Federal Sources.

In addition to Corcoran’s promotion, Hitachi Vantara Federal also named Gary BryantOliver Bock and Yllen Llanes as director of professional services, senior manager of customer service and support and senior manager of operations, respectively.
