GSA Awards $393M in Contracts to CEG Solutions, Ameresco for Energy Conservation Measures

The General Services Administration has awarded CEG Solutions and Ameresco two Energy Savings Performance Contracts worth approximately $393 million combined.

GSA said both contracts are funded by the Inflation Reduction Act as part of President Joe Biden’s Investing in America agenda.

Contract Awarded to CEG

CEG Solutions will perform energy and water upgrades at multiple GSA facilities in the National Capital Region under the $210 million Energy Savings Performance Contract, which will use $116.4 million in Inflation Reduction Act funding.

The contract covers nine federally owned buildings, including the Markey National Courts Building, Sidney Yates Federal Building and the U.S. Tax Court Building.

The vendor will modernize building systems, help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and eliminate the facilities’ dependence on a GSA-operated heating plant.

The projects are part of GSA’s plan to reduce $450 million in energy costs across its real estate portfolio through the Inflation Reduction Act.

Ameresco’s Contract With GSA

Ameresco will implement energy savings and conservation measures at the Denver Federal Center under a $183 million contract with GSA.

The Energy Savings Performance Contract will leverage $140.2 million in funding through the Inflation Reduction Act to support energy infrastructure modernization efforts at the center.

The company will help implement a centralized geothermal heat pump system and a solar photovoltaic system to provide heating, cooling and electrical power for the facilities to reduce energy use by about 51 percent and water consumption by approximately 10 percent.
