Evercore Offers January Update on Defense & Government Services Firms’ Market Performances

Investment banking firm Evercore has issued its January report, highlighting the market performances of several U.S. defense and government services companies.

The monthly update released by the firm’s aerospace, defense and government services team shows the enterprise and equity values, share performances and operating metrics of several U.S. defense primes, including RTX, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, L3Harris Technologies and HII.

The monthly report also presents the last-12-month and year-to-date share price performances of defense technology and government services vendors, including Leonardo DRS, Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, Leidos, Booz Allen Hamilton, Amentum, ICF, Parsons and Science Applications International Corp.

Aerospace, Defense, Government Services M&As

The document lists the recent mergers and acquisitions in the aerospace, defense and government services sectors where Evercore served as an adviser.

These include Woodward‘s move to acquire Safran’s electronics and defense electromechanical actuation business; an agreement signed by Teledyne Technologies to buy select aerospace and defense electronics businesses of Excelitas Technologies through a $710 million cash deal; and ARKA Group’s acquisition of Maxar Technologies’ radar and sensor technology group.

The report also highlights AeroVironment’s move to acquire BlueHalo for approximately $4.1 billion in an all-stock transaction and CACI International’s $1.3 billion purchase of Azure Summit Technology.

Recent Developments in Defense & Government Services Sectors

Evercore listed some of the key developments in the defense and government services sectors, including the partnership of Palantir Technologies and Anduril Industries to form a consortium that would advance AI capabilities for national security; the three Defense Information Systems Agency task orders awarded to Leidos to move an expanded user base to the Department of Defense Network, or DODNet; and KBR’s move to rename Government Solutions as Mission Technology Solutions as part of a segment realignment effort.
