Becky John, a 14-year industry veteran with extensive experience working with the federal sector, has been appointed senior vice president of business development and strategic growth at SMX. The executive announced her promotion on Linkedin Saturday.
John joined SMX as VP of business development and strategic growth as part of SMX’s cloud leadership team expansion. She was responsible for the growth and development of its cloud business.
In her new role, she will oversee the company’s federal civilian, law enforcement, state, local and commercial business.
Becky John’s Career
Before joining SMX, John was VP of capture at ECS, spearheading the company’s lead capture efforts. She was elevated to VP of business development, where she led the strategic growth initiative for the federal civilian, defense and intelligence sectors while fostering collaboration among various teams to drive revenue growth.
John worked at CGI for almost a decade. She served as director of the company’s Department of Homeland Security programs, supervising operations and business development while managing multiple task orders. The executive also worked as program manager for almost three years, managing projects and global information technology programs for the Defense Information Systems Agency and other clients from the Department of Defense. She also previously served as project manager and project control specialist early in her CGI career.
The new SMX SVP joined BAE Systems Information Technology in 2008 and served as a project control specialist for two years.
