Naval Nuclear Propulsion Components Contract Details
The Department of Defense said Friday BPMI will perform work for the cost-plus-fixed-fee modification in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Schenectady, New York. The project is set to be completed by September 2033.
As the contracting activity, the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. will allocate an initial amount of $168.9 million from the Navy’s fiscal 2025 other procurement funds and $6.8 million from its fiscal 2025 shipbuilding and conversion funds. These funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
Previous BPMI Contracts
The company received a $447 million contract modification from the Navy in August 2024. The contract, which will run through September 2033, covers the engine requirements for the production of naval nuclear propulsion components.
In December 2023, BPMI was awarded a couple of contracts with a total value of $889 million also for the procurement of naval nuclear propulsion components. The initial and second cost-plus-fixed-fee contracts were worth $706 million and $183 million, respectively.
