Raytheon has booked a $282.3 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for Small Diameter Bomb Increment II, GBU-53/B Production Lot 11.
The Department of Defense said Thursday the RTX company will provide up rounds and containers for the StormBreaker munition.
Production will be conducted at Raytheon’s facility in Tucson, Arizona. The contract, a sole source acquisition, is set to be completed by March 19, 2029.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in Eglin Air Force Base, Florida will obligate $220.1 million from the Air Force’s fiscal 2025 missile procurement funds and $62.2 million from the Navy’s fiscal 2025 weapons procurement funds at the time of award.
In July, Raytheon received a modification to an existing contract for the production of StormBreaker Increment II small diameter bombs. The original $275 million contract is now worth $600 million and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
