Hello, Guest!

Tony Gingiss to Lead Millennium Space Systems as CEO

Tony Gingiss has assumed new responsibilities as CEO of Millennium Space Systems, effective immediately. The executive will lead 1,000 employees in meeting the requirements of the commercial, civil, defense and national security space programs, the Boeing company said Monday.

Who is Tony Gingiss?

Gingiss brings to the role over 30 years of experience in leading the design, production and operations of space systems. He moved to Millenium from Terran Orbital, where he served as strategic adviser and chief operating officer for over a year.

He also held executive leadership positions at Virgin Orbit, OneWeb and Airbus OneWeb Satellites, a joint venture between Airbus and OneWeb.

Gingiss’ appointment as Millennium CEO marks the aerospace industry veteran’s return to Boeing. He began as a mission systems engineer and analyst for the Arlington County, Virginia-headquartered company in 1992. Through his over 21 years of service at the aircraft and rocket manufacturer, Gingiss was assigned to various roles of increasing responsibility, becoming director of strategic integration for the company’s satellite systems business in 2017.

“We’re pleased to welcome Tony back to Boeing as he takes the helm of Millennium Space Systems,” Michelle Parker, vice president of Boeing Space Mission Systems. “Tony brings strong leadership and extensive experience that will help us scale our operations while meeting current commitments and driving growth for the business.”

Millennium Space Systems’ Recent Contract Awards

Gingiss will oversee Millennium’s work on the U.S. Space Force’s future missile warning satellite constellation. The company, along with RTX, recently secured a prototype contract from the government to create digital models of sensor technology for the Missile Track Custody.

In May, the defense and space manufacturing company won an other transaction authority agreement worth $414 million to produce eight fire control satellites for the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
