Kevin Youngquist was named vice president of sales for public sector at SoftBank Group-backed data security software firm Cohesity, the executive announced in a LinkedIn post Wednesday.
Youngquist came to Cohesity from Veritas Technologies, which was acquired by the former to create the largest data protection software provider by market share. Read about the initial announcement of the acquisition here.
During his nearly a decade of stay at Veritas, Youngquist served as senior director for U.S. federal and then vice president of U.S. public sector.
The executive has more than 25 years of experience in IT leadership, focused on helping public sector and healthcare customers.
Youngquist’s career also includes time working as senior federal account executive and director of civilian sales at Symantec, federal account executive at Hewlett-Packard and account executive at Analysts International Corp.
“In my career, I’ve specialized in cloud data protection, data classification and SaaS solutions,” his profile reads. “[I’m an] MBA-prepared leader with track record of consistently growing market share in several technology domains by helping our clients reduce risk and increase technology adoption.”
