Firestorm Awarded $100M Air Force SBIR Phase III Contract for Small UAS

Firestorm Labs has secured a $100 million Small Business Innovation Research Phase III contract from the U.S. Air Force for small unmanned aerial systems,  research and development and support services.

The Department of Defense said Wednesday that under the decentralized indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the San Diego, California-based UAS company will integrate Firestorm into AFWERX Prime Proving Ground and support Adaptive Air Enterprise, Babbage Flock, and Hale Cluster projects through R&D efforts.

The IDIQ, which was a sole source acquisition under the SBIR Phase III program, also provides for services in support of robotic and autonomy platform for interoperable devices.

Firestorm Labs will perform contract work until Dec. 16, 2031.

The Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, the contracting activity, is obligating fiscal 2024 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of the award.
