Lynx Software Technologies Acquires Core Avionics & Industrial

Lynx Software Technologies, a portfolio company of private equity firm OceanSound Partners, has acquired Core Avionics & Industrial, a provider of development tools, software libraries and deployable software packages for secured graphics processing unit-based computing.

In a statement published Wednesday, Lynx CEO Tim Reed said the company is expanding into the GPU computing market for safety- and security-critical systems with the acquisition of CoreAVI.

“By adding CoreAVI’s leading technologies for high-performance computing and graphics systems to the LYNX MOSA.ic suite of edge computing solutions, we are now able to provide a comprehensive suite of software solutions and services that enable our customers to deploy next-generation, certified technologies that include real-time safety control, cybersecurity, AI, autonomy, and computer vision capabilities,” he added.

The combined company integrates the advanced product suite of CoreAVI into Lynx’s portfolio of software products, development tools, open-source expertise and software development services. It also now has approximately 300 employees and nearly 60 patents.

“Lynx’s vision is to build an ecosystem of IP that aligns with market-established open standards and partner-enabled capabilities to address the software challenges of the most demanding customers,” said Reed.

Early in 2024, Lynx also acquired Thompson Software Solutions as part of efforts to establish a platform company that will offer full software development life cycle support services for customers in aerospace and defense markets.
