Leidos subsidiary Dynetics, a company specializing in hypersonics, has received a $670.5 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to supply the U.S. Army with the common-hypersonic glide body and thermal protection system.
Dynetics Contract Scope
Dynetics will perform work at its headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama. The project is expected to run until Oct. 31, 2029, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
The Army Contracting Command in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, will obligate $65.8 million from the Army’s fiscal 2024 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of the award.
Previous Dynetics Common-Hypersonic Glide Body Contracts
In 2019, a Dynetics-led team initially booked a contract with the Army to develop C-HGB prototypes. The contractors worked with Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and General Atomics on the three-year C-HGB prototyping initiative.
The award was followed in 2023 by a contract modification in which the company was tasked with building the C-HGB system.
