Maxar Intelligence Adds Matt Santangelo, Matt Jenkins, Peter Wilczynski to Leadership Team

Maxar Technologies’ intelligence business has appointed industry executives Matt Santangelo, Matt Jenkins and Peter Wilczynski to its leadership team to drive innovation and growth initiatives.

Maxar Intelligence said Tuesday Wilczynski joined the company in early summer as chief product officer, while Santangelo and Jenkins have been named chief financial officer and chief space systems officer, respectively.

“These leaders will help us cement our role as the leading global geospatial insights company, helping us evolve our best-in-class constellation and build advanced, AI-powered geospatial products that empower our users with faster, more actionable mission-critical insights,” said Maxar Intelligence CEO Dan Smoot.

Matt Santangelo

The newly appointed CFO will oversee Maxar’s global finance organization.

He held a similar role at cybersecurity company Forcepoint.

During his 15-year career at RTX subsidiary Raytheon, Santangelo held finance and transformation positions to drive operational efficiencies and business growth in the international market.

Matt Jenkins

As head of space systems, he will help shape the innovation roadmap for WorldView Legions 7 and 8 and Maxar’s other on-orbit technologies.

Jenkins brings over two decades of experience developing spacecraft and remote sensing systems for critical government missions to Maxar Intelligence.

He most recently served as head of engineering for the government solutions team at Amazon’s Project Kuiper.

He also held senior engineering roles at Pacific Defense Systems and Raytheon.

Peter Wilczynski

The chief product officer will leverage Maxar’s geospatial expertise to advance the development of artificial intelligence-based software offerings that use high-resolution imagery to deliver mission-critical insights.

Prior to Maxar, Wilczynski spent more than a decade at Palantir Technologies, where he led the development of the Ontology System, Gaia geospatial mapping platform and Gotham, an intelligence and operations system that supports U.S. defense and intelligence agencies.
