Honeywell Names Tony Mitchell as Acting CTO for EDS Division

Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) has appointed Tony Mitchell, an aerospace and defense executive, as acting chief technology officer of the company’s electromagnetic defensive solutions division.

Mitchell announced his new position in a LinkedIn post published Saturday.

CAES became part of Honeywell’s EDS division after the multinational conglomerate closed its acquisition of the former from private equity firm Advent International in September as part of a push to expand its defense technology platforms across ground, sea, air and space domains and drive the growth of its aerospace technologies business.

The newly appointed interim CTO of EDS most recently served as vice president of advanced technology, business development and strategy at CAES, where he coordinated independent research and development projects and partnerships with large prime defense contractors and government laboratories.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mitchell’s industry career included business development leadership roles at Dynetics Group within Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), BAE Systems Inc. and Arete.

He spent two decades in the U.S. Air Force, where he held assignments in acquisition and research and development.
