HII‘s (NYSE: HII) Mission Technologies division has received a potential five-year, $458 million task order from the Department of Defense to help DOD modernize its communications and information technology networks to facilitate rapid decision-making on the battlefield.
The company said Tuesday the U.S. Air Force’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron awarded the task order under DOD’s Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract vehicle.

Communications and IT Modernization Task Order
Under the task order, HII will build, evaluate and implement technical platforms to protect systems from cyberthreats and facilitate cloud migration in support of the missions of DOD service components, U.S. Special Operations Command and deployed warfighters.
The company will also use model-based systems engineering to advance waveform development, communication hardware prototyping, payloads, mobile ad-hoc network aerial relay systems and deployable communication kits.
The award also includes spectrum and bandwidth management support and the development of capabilities to modernize data analytics and communications at the tactical edge.
