According to an award notice published Friday, the selected offerors are Nuclear Fuel Services, Global Nuclear Fuel-Americas, American Centrifuge Operating and Framatome.
In November 2023, DOE issued a solicitation for the potential 10-year contract to acquire services to deconvert high-assay low-enriched uranium, or HALEU, as uranium hexafluoride gas to oxide, metal and other various chemical forms to produce fuels for advanced reactors.
Each awardee will receive a minimum guarantee of $2 million and conduct deconversion and storage services at locations within the continental U.S.
