Dr. Stefanie Tompkins, director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, received her 2024 Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson during a recent meeting.
Tompkins earned her third Wash100 award this year in recognition of spearheading the agency’s collaboration with numerous stakeholders to modernize quantum computing capabilities and produce resilient artificial intelligence technologies to aid U.S. global defense.
Since being appointed DARPA director in March 2021, Tompkins has leveraged her extensive experience in the science and technology field to advance DARPA’s operations.
“Stefanie’s leadership and deep expertise in science, technology, research and development is absolutely critical to our country’s ability to stay ahead of the technological curve in this era of heightened competition,” Garrettson commented. “From supply chain independence and innovation to cyber protection and AI development, Stefanie is spearheading impactful initiatives at DARPA and bolstering the vibrant U.S. R&D landscape. We thank Stefanie for her bold leadership and promising vision for our future. Her embrace of advanced technologies has earned her a spot on our Wash100 list for the third year.”
The Wash100 Award annually recognizes executives shaping the government and making waves throughout the government contracting space. The 100 awardees come from both private and public sectors of the GovCon world and are the trailblazers to watch for the important role they each play in the industry’s growth.
Congratulations to Tompkins on keeping the streak going with her third win! Executive Mosaic is ecstatic to include her on the highly selective awardee list.
