The State Department has cleared the potential foreign military sale of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems to Croatia.
The possible transaction is worth an estimated $390 million and has Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) as the principal contractor, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday
It the purchase of the following:
- Eight M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS
- 24 M30A2 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Alternative Warhead Pods with Insensitive Munitions Propulsion System
- 24 M31A2 GMLRS-Unitary High Explosive Pods with IMPS
- Two M1152 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles with Next Generation Shop Equipment Contact Maintenance

- 36 Defense Advanced GPS Receivers.
In addition, Croatia will buy reduced range practice rocket pods, AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-158 and AN/PRC-160 radios, common fire control systems as well as international field artillery tactical data systems.
Under the probable deal, Croatia also plans to buy software, training, resupply vehicles, technical assistance and other related elements of program and logistic support.
The European nation expects the possible deal to strengthen its defensive capabilities against current and future threats and help Croatia support coalition operations and promote interoperability with its NATO allies.
Four representatives from the U.S. government and four from the contractor will travel to Croatia at least twice a year to provide program management reviews and support equipment fielding and training.
The agency notified Congress of the possible sale Friday.
