Safran Defense and Space, a subsidiary of Safran Group, has booked a $275 million contract from the U.S. Army to supply Laser Target Locator Module II systems.
The Department of Defense said Monday the cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract also covers the delivery of associated spare parts, contractor logistical support and maintenance support.
The Bedford, New Hampshire-based aerospace and defense company is expected to complete the contract by Sept. 15, 2034. Work location and funding for the project will be known once orders are placed.
The Army Contracting Command at the Aberdeen Proving Ground facility in Maryland serves as the contracting activity.
The LTLM II features a direct view scope, uncooled infrared camera, digital magnetic compass, eye-safe laser range finder and a built-in selective availability anti-spoofing module GPS receiver.
The second generation Laser Target Locator is designed to boost the targeting capabilities of the Army by utilizing advanced laser technology to locate targets more accurately. The LTLM II supports the command, control, communications, computer and intelligence system by providing vital data to the fire support.
