Ibeos, formerly Cubic Aerospace, has appointed John Moberly as chief growth officer and general manager of government programs.
In his new role, Moberly will oversee customer engagement and be involved in the Reston, Virginia-based spacecraft electronics provider’s product and strategy development, Ibeos said Wednesday.
The executive joins Ibeos from SpiderOak Mission Systems, a cybersecurity services company for civil, military and commercial space sectors. Moberly served as SpiderOak’s senior vice president of space for two years, leading the company’s effort to establish standards for the secure transfer of information to and from space.
He also held leadership positions at LeoLabs Federal, Arete Associates, Hughes Network Systems and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.
In a statement announcing Moberly’s appointment, he described Ibeos as a “scale-up” instead of a startup.
“Ibeos brings key solutions to power, energy storage, and processing and compute at the edge for time-critical missions and these first couple of months have already been a whirlwind of customer demand to meet mission needs,” he said.
