GDIT Secures $299M DISA Contract for Pentagon’s Network Infrastructure Support

General Dynamics Information Technology, a subsidiary of global aerospace and defense company General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has booked a $299 million contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency to extend its role in overseeing the Department of Defense’s network infrastructure.

GDIT will continue managing the network infrastructure that serves the Pentagon and the National Capitol Region for one year, General Dynamics said Thursday.

The contract awarded through the Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management – Next Generation program also has two six-month extension options in addition to the base period of performance.

Under the award, GDIT will still operate and maintain the network ensuring its continuous service to more than 55,000 customers. The contractor is also tasked with enhancing the network’s IT environment to make it faster and more secure and dependable.

Brian Sheridan, senior vice president for defense at GDIT, said, “Enhancing the Pentagon’s network infrastructure will further advance technological superiority for our warfighters. We look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with DISA and reimagining new ways to provide a modern, secure and reliable network.”

In 2019, GDIT secured a potential five-year, $491 million blanket purchase agreement from DISA to support the Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management-Next Generation program.
