CENTCOM CTO Schuyler Moore Joins GovCon International Summit Lineup

The Potomac Officers Club’s first-ever GovCon International Summit on Oct. 10 will bring together experts in foreign relations, joint warfighting and more to weigh in on the global priorities of the United States and its allies. The event has a packed schedule, and you won’t want to miss the chance to hear from its featured speakers.

One individual leading the global government contracting space is Schuyler Moore of the U.S. Central Command. Moore, a 2024 Wash100 winner, was just confirmed to keynote the GovCon International Summit. Keep reading for a glimpse into her career background and work at CENTCOM.

Who is Schuyler Moore?

Moore was appointed to serve as the first chief technology officer of CENTCOM in October 2022. In this position, she leads the command’s technology innovation efforts.

Upon her selection, Moore listed “helping drive the rapid integration of disruptive technology, generating new concepts of technology use and growing the Culture of Innovation across USCENTCOM” as some of her goals as CTO.

Moore has extensive experience in defense technology and foreign policy-based roles. Prior to joining CENTCOM, she was chief strategy officer of the Navy’s Task Force 59, which is focused on unmanned systems and artificial intelligence integration. Earlier, she was a senior defense and foreign policy adviser for the U.S. House of Representatives. She has led five projects for the Defense Innovation Board and also served as the board’s director of science and technology.

Along with her role at CENTCOM, Moore serves as a part-time intelligence officer within the U.S. Navy reserve.

Schuyler Moore’s Priorities

AI, data and Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control, or CJADC2, are just a few of Moore’s top priorities, and she has spoken extensively about the ways in which these topics intersect.

During a panel discussion at the Potomac Officers Club’s Achieving Transformative Cooperation for National Defense Forum in March, Moore broke down the role of AI in joint warfighting, which she said is “being able to surface the data that is most critical to be able to move from one network to another at a very tactical level.”

She is a staunch advocate for carefully and intentionally implementing AI, which she does not view as a standard solution for every data problem.

In a LinkedIn post published late last year, Moore revealed that CENTCOM is “focused on AI integration into our operations across a few key problem sets” and is working with other Department of Defense organizations to advance these efforts.

Schuyler Moore to Keynote GovCon International Summit

Moore will bring her insights to the Potomac Officers Club’s GovCon International Summit as one of four keynote speakers at the event. The summit will take a global perspective on government contracting and explore the ways in which the U.S. and its allies are tackling the challenges of today’s international landscape. Panel discussions at the event will focus on CJADC2, space, the AUKUS security agreement and logistics and sustainment.
