CDC Selects 5 Vendors for $118M Lab Testing & Data Sharing Support IDIQ

Five companies have won spots on a potential $118 million contract to help the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention improve laboratory processing and data sharing between internal and external partners to support readiness and response activities during public health emergencies.

According to award notices published Friday, the Test Surge and Data Sharing program is a multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that seeks to enhance the accuracy of lab testing and strengthen situational awareness through the use of lab data.

The awardees are:

  • Aegis Sciences
  • Arup Laboratories
  • Ginkgo Bioworks (NYSE: DNA)
  • Laboratory Corporation of America (NYSE: LH)
  • Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX)

Arup, Ginkgo, Labcorp and Quest have received separate task orders from CDC under the IDIQ contract.

The task orders cover the development and validation of an Influenza A/H5 assay and the delivery of technical support services to meet the agency’s test surge and data sharing requirement.
