Viasat (Nasdaq: VSAT) has received a potential five-year, $153.4 million contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency to provide support services for Project Manager Mission Command’s Blue Force Tracker 2 requirement.
DISA announced the sole-source award in a notice published Wednesday on SAM.gov.
Under the contract, the vendor will support BFT-2 engineering service work by providing operational support for the BFT-2 network, maintaining software and hardware packages and configurations and developing and upgrading software and hardware to meet modernization objectives, according to a redacted copy of the justification for other than full and open competition.
The contract has a one-year base period and four option years.
Project Manager Mission Command is a component of the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Command, Control and Communications-Tactical and oversees the development, deployment and sustainment of integrated mission command and situational awareness capabilities for the Army and joint forces.
