V2X (NYSE: VVX) has secured a contract to ensure the operational readiness of F-5 Adversary aircraft of the U.S. Navy.
The company said Wednesday the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for F-5 maintenance is valued at $747 million and has a potential seven-year period of performance, including three 12-month options.
Work will be performed at various military facilities across the United States. The base performance period is until November 2028 and contract options would extend work through November 2031.
The F-5 Adversary is designed to provide naval pilots with realistic air-to-air combat training. It simulates adversary combat tactics to equip trainees with the knowledge and skills to defeat threats.
The supersonic fighter jet was developed by Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and is currently employed by the Navy and Marine Corps.
In October 2023, the aerospace business of Vertex, which merged with Vectrus to form V2X, secured a $458.2 million IDIQ from the Navy to establish a new depot site for the F-5, as well as provide organizational, selected intermediate and limited depot-level maintenance of the aircraft until November 2028.
