Ted Davis, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, has been elevated to the role of president and general manager of Auterion Government Solutions, a robotics and autonomous systems software company.
Auterion said Tuesday he served as vice president of government solutions before his promotion and will now succeed Errol Farr, who is taking an advisory role at the Arlington, Virginia-headquartered company.
In his new role, Davis will leverage his extensive experience in national defense to lead the company in its efforts to grow its autonomous remote system programs in response to the increasing demand for drones in defense and national security spaces.
The executive previously held senior director of business development positions at KBR (NYSE: KBR)and Raytheon Solipsys.
The Air Force veteran also served in vital roles during his time with the military. Davis was deputy division chief of C2 Ops, Employment and Force Development and director of the Joint Interoperability Division under the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
An expert in command, control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or C2ISR, mission areas, Davis oversaw different national defense mission areas including integrated air and missile defense, military space domain awareness, advanced ISR and autonomous remote system operations.
Farr underscored Davis’ national defense background, saying, “His expertise will bring new insights and be instrumental as AGS continues to deliver innovative autonomous systems to support mission-critical operations.”
Davis welcomed the opportunity to lead the company, noting, “Auterion’s commitment to advancing the capabilities of autonomous mass aligns perfectly with my experience and interest in defense innovation.”
The new Auterion GS president earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. He also holds a Master of Military Operational Art and Science from the Air Force’s Air Command and Staff College.
