The State Department has approved Israel’s request to buy F-15IA aircraft, advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles, 120mm tank cartridges, family of medium tactical vehicles and M933A1120mm high explosive mortar cartridges from the U.S. government under five foreign military sales agreements worth approximately $20.3 billion combined.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday Israel requested to purchase up to 50 F-15IA multirole fighter planes and mid-life update modification kits for 25 F-15I planes, 120 units of F110-GE-129 engines, Advanced Display Core Processors II and related equipment and services under a potential $18.8 billion FMS deal.
The State Department cleared a $583.1 million FMS request for the procurement of modified M1148A1P2 FMTVs, armor b-kits, corrosion protection, spare and repair parts and software delivery, technical, logistics and government and contractor engineering support.
The Middle Eastern country also received approval for a potential FMS transaction worth $774.1 million for the purchase of 120mm tank cartridges, 120mm tank munitions, transportation, publications and technical documentation and related technical services.
The FMS deal for AIM-120C-8 AMRAAMs is worth approximately $102.5 million and the transaction for 50,000 units of M933A1 120mm high explosive mortar cartridges with M783 fuzes is valued at $61.1 million.
Boeing (NYSE: BA), RTX (NYSE: RTX), General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) ordnance and tactical systems business, Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and Oshkosh (NYSE: OSK) have been named principal contractors in these deals.
Israel will use the weapons systems and related equipment and services from these proposed sales to strengthen homeland defense, improve its capability to meet existing and future threats and deter regional threats.
