Cybersecurity company SIXGEN has acquired Boldend to expand its portfolio with the addition of the latter’s cyber automation tools, software and electronic warfare platforms and add engineering and technical talent needed to speed up the development and delivery of capabilities to digital warfighters and support U.S. defense and national security missions.
SIXGEN said Tuesday Boldend CEO Mike Barry will become a senior member of its team as a result of the acquisition.
“Boldend brings a dynamic team of individuals possessing exceptional mission experience and an unrivaled portfolio of solutions that are integral to SIXGENâs growth objectives and amplifies our product roadmaps. Boldend’s curated and highly mission-centric IP strengthens our ability to address the needs of our partners and customers,â said SIXGEN CEO Jack Wilmer.
Boldend is focused on developing software offerings that scale cyber capabilities and products that combine electronic warfare components with modern cyber platforms to support defense and national security missions.
The transaction marks the second purchase of SIXGEN, which was acquired by private investment firm Washington Harbour Partners in November.
In July, SIXGEN bought cybersecurity firm Secure Enterprise Engineering as part of efforts to broaden its software offerings, client relationships and technical talent.
Morrison & Foerster served as Washington Harbour’s legal counsel in the transaction. Cooley advised Boldend on the deal’s legal aspect.
