Rebecca Adams, former senior vice president, people and places at Cohesity, was promoted to the role of chief people officer at the information technology company.
Adams announced her appointment to the executive level position in a LinkedIn post.
At Cohesity, the new CPO previously served as VP and chief experience officer of operations. She was also the chief of staff to the CEO.
Adams was with VMware for more than eight years before her move to Cohesity. She served as vice president of executive customer relationships and go-to-market operations.
Much of her stay at the cloud computing company, however, was spent as the chief of staff to the chief operating officer of customer operations. In this VMware role, Adams was responsible for overseeing business operations and strategic projects for the COO.
The executive worked for Germany-based software company SAP as the head of analytics product communications before moving up to senior director of ecosystem and channels marketing. She then served for over six years as SAP’s vice president and chief of staff of applications and platform solutions.
Adams graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Business in Arts degree in Speech Communication. She also earned a Certificate in Human Resource Management Certificate from the University of the Pacific, as well as a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
