Parsons (NYSE: PSN) subsidiary Sealing Technologies has appointed industry executives Brandon Whalen and Hugh Clapp as CEO and chief operating officer, respectively.
Whalen most recently served as SealingTech’s mission director of security enhanced information sharing and Clapp was mission director of defensive cyber operations at the Parsons subsidiary.
In August 2023, Parsons acquired SealingTech to expand its defensive cyber capabilities and strengthen its presence in the national security market.
Whalen founded Quark Security, which SealingTech acquired in 2019.
“Brandon’s commitment to SealingTech’s mission and the outstanding work that we do positions him to lead us toward our vision of becoming a global leader in tailored defensive cybersecurity solutions,” the company said in a LinkedIn post published Friday.
In his previous role as mission director at SealingTech, he helped develop secure systems for the Department of Defense and oversaw the development of cross-domain platforms.
“I’ve been lucky enough to be part of SealingTech for nearly five years. In that time we have created new defensive cybersecurity solutions that are used all over the planet, solved challenging problems in high threat environments, had incredible growth, and become part of Parsons,” Whalen said in his post on the professional networking platform. “I have a fantastic team around me that I am going to empower to create the next generation of tailored defensive cybersecurity solutions.”
Clapp is a former U.S. Navy officer who brings to the COO role his nearly three decades of experience advancing cybersecurity efforts, supporting defense missions and helping enhance warfighter capabilities.
In his previous role as mission director, Clapp helped SealingTech design and build threat hunting and incident response systems.
He held cyber leadership positions at several companies, including Deloitte, Symantec and Capital One.
