Option3’s Zero Trust-Focused Platform ENIGMA Closes Onclave Networks Buy

Cybersecurity private equity firm Option3 has announced that its newly created platform focused on accelerating zero trust adoption, ENIGMA, completed the purchase of Onclave Networks.

“With this acquisition, Onclave becomes the foundation for the ENIGMA Zero Trust platform, with technology that is now also being adopted by customers such as the Defense Health Agency, White House Communications Agency and NATO,” Manish Thakur, managing partner of Option3, said in a statement published Friday.

The transaction was first announced by Option3 in January.

Onclave Networks uses zero trust principles and other methods that the Department of Defense uses to reduce attack surfaces, mitigate security breaches and address network complexity.

In July, Onclave secured an authority to operate from the Defense Health Agency for its zero-trust secure communications offering, TrustedPlatform.

“We are extremely excited to be a foundational part of the ENIGMA platform,” said Jim Taylor, CEO of Onclave Networks. “With Onclave’s technology, ENIGMA will address some of the biggest challenges facing Zero Trust, particularly extending it to older cyber-physical systems, Internet of Things, Operational Technology, and other industrial control systems.”
