Mark Rayha Named General Dynamics Electric Boat President; Kevin Graney to Retire at Year End

Mark Rayha, senior vice president and chief operating officer of General Dynamics‘ (NYSE:GD) Electric Boat, will take over Kevin Graney as president of the subsidiary, effective Dec. 1.

Kevin Graney

General Dynamics said Thursday Graney will retire at the end of the year. He has been with the company since 1995, assuming leadership roles of increasing responsibilities at Electric Boat and NASSCO.

“His shipbuilding expertise and strong leadership have been instrumental to the performance and continuous improvement of both NASSCO and Electric Boat,” Phebe Novakovic, chairman and CEO of General Dynamics, remarked about Graney.

Rayha, on the other hand, has more than three decades of experience at General Dynamics. Earlier, he was with its land systems business before moving to its mission systems business in 2015 as chief financial officer.

The incoming General Dynamics Electric Boat president joined the subsidiary in 2020, became its CFO in 2021 and took on his current COO post in 2023.

“Mark is a 35-year veteran of General Dynamics and is a proven and capable leader,” said Novakovic, a nine-time Wash100 awardee. “His experience as CFO and COO of Electric Boat will ensure that we continue to grow to support our nation’s need for submarines.”
