Marine Corps Places $120M Order for L3Harris Multichannel Radios; Chris Aebli Quoted

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has secured a more than $120 million order from the U.S. Marine Corps for multichannel handheld and vehicular radio systems.

The company said Wednesday USMC placed the order under a 10-year, $750 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for L3Harris-built Falcon IV handheld radios.

Falcon IV is a software-defined device designed to provide users access to a broad portfolio of resilient waveforms to ensure spectrum superiority against emerging threats. The radio also allows for immediate upgrades in compliance with the National Security Agency high-assurance standards.

“Our continued investment toward high-assurance technology centers around providing U.S. Marines and other customers the ability to operate seamlessly on the move without enemy interference or detection,” said Chris Aebli, president of tactical communications at L3Harris.

“These highly advanced systems allow our fighting forces to coordinate with a growing coalition that have selected L3Harris as their resilient communication systems provider,” added Aebli.

The latest award brings the total amount of orders under the IDIQ contract to over $600 million.
