A General Atomics business has secured a five-year, $500 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Special Operations Command for drone support services.
The Department of Defense said Friday that under the IDIQ, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. was awarded an initial task order for program management support related to MQ-9 and MQ-1C Special Operations Forces-peculiar modifications in support of SOCOM.
Contract work will be conducted at GA-ASI’s Poway, California location, and will run through Aug. 16, 2029.
The award will be funded with the military’s operations and maintenance; procurement; and/or research, development and testing evaluation funds.
SOCOM serves as the contracting activity.
In December 2023, GA-ASI was awarded a $200 million SOCOM contract to integrate and test modified medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicles.
