ECS, NTT Data Win Spots on $1.1B NIH NEAT IT Support BPA; John Heneghan, Michelle Sangiuliano Quoted

The National Institutes of Health has awarded ECS and NTT Data positions on a potential five-year, $1.1 billion blanket purchase agreement to provide information technology support services for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies – NEAT – BPA covers cyber infrastructure, software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data management and analytics platforms and support services, the companies said in news releases published Tuesday.

The NIH NIAID Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology oversees the BPA to support NIAID’s basic and applied research mission to improve the understanding, treatment, and prevention of infectious, allergic, and immunologic diseases.

“Building on our decades-long partnership with the NIH, this award represents an important next step in IT innovation and advancement for NIAID’s globally impactful mission,” said John Heneghan, president of ECS and a 2024 Wash100 awardee.

NTT Data said the NEAT BPA is expected to run through July 21, 2029.

“Our 17+ year partnership has been built on strong teamwork, customer service and a commitment to NIAID’s core values. We look forward to applying our expertise to meet NIAID’s evolving needs over the next five years,” said Michelle Sangiuliano, senior vice president of federal health and civilian at NTT Data.
