Cadmus Books $200M USAID Contract for Enhanced Digital Programs

Cadmus has secured a contract worth $200 million from the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, for the development of its digital technology programs and ecosystem.

The strategic and technical consultancy firm said Wednesday it was awarded the Digital Forward contract by the agency to provide support for its digital integration and expansion across various technical and regional sectors.

Cadmus is tasked with implementing the Digital Forward Project, which was launched in February 2024 and will run through February 2029. As USAID’s flagship digital development mechanism, the program intends to produce comprehensive digital development through research, training, change management, strategy support and partnerships within the digital sector.

Over the next five years, Digital Forward will support USAID’s partner nations and Washington-based operating units by providing the tools and technical aid that will help in the integration of digital development initiatives into all aspects of the agency’s programming.

Digital Forward’s mission of promoting the growth of digital technology programs aligns with the objectives of the USAID Digital Policy. The project also aims to hasten the development of open, inclusive, secure and rights-respecting digital ecosystems in agency’s partner countries worldwide.

Ian Kline, president and CEO of Cadmus, expressed his excitement over the opportunity to support USAID in its efforts to enable digital development at all levels of the agency and across partner nations. “This program builds on Cadmus’ digital transformation work in international development, allowing us to utilize our extensive local and regional partner networks to advance the responsible and impactful use of digital technology.”

Digital Forward is administered by USAID’s Innovation, Technology, and Research Hub’s Technology Division within the Bureau for Inclusive Growth, Partnerships, and Innovation. The Cadmus Consortium, meanwhile, is made up of partners such as Access Partnership, CollaborateUp, Purdue Applied Research Institute, Resonance and Socha.
