A Bechtel business has secured a U.S. Navy contract modification valued at $447 million for naval nuclear propulsion components.
The Department of Defense said Thursday that under the cost-plus-fixed-fee award, Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. will continue providing the Navy with the engine requirements.
Work at BPMI’s Monroeville, Pennsylvania site will run through September 2033.
Naval Sea Systems Command, which serves as the contracting activity, will obligate the full contract modification amount from fiscal 2024 National Sea-Based Deterrence Funds at the time of the award.
In December 2023, the company was awarded a $706 million contract from the Navy for nuclear propulsion component production.
