Rob San Martin, vice president of the public sector at Akamai Technologies (Nasdaq: AKAM), said government agencies need insights into global cybersecurity trends and incidents to ensure the security of their networks.
San Martin wrote in an article published on Carahsoft.com that agencies should work with companies like Akamai that could provide them with tailored platforms like Connected Cloud designed to provide worldwide visibility and help identify “cyberattacks at an unmatched level, filtering by size, scope and scale.”
He noted that Akamai works to help identify security trends by processing over 11 trillion Domain Name System requests per day.
“Akamai’s DDoS protection is built on dedicated infrastructure to protect agencies’ interface-facing applications and systems while maintaining fast, highly secure and always available DNS,ā he wrote.
The public sector VP highlighted the need for agencies to transition to a zero trust model in order to operate securely in the current threat landscape.
