The U.S. Air Force has started soliciting industry comments on a draft solicitation for a potential 10-year, $900 million contract to provide avionics sustainment support services for the T-38 Talon supersonic jet trainer.
The T-38C Avionics Sustainment and Support Program will have a five-year base period and one option term of five years and is a follow-on contract to the Avionics Component Integration program that is set to expire by the end of March 2026, according to the draft request for proposals published Thursday.
According to the performance work statement, the T-38C ASSP contract will cover contractor logistics support, systems engineering, contractor operated and maintained base supply, hardware and software upgrades, program management and courseware revision and maintenance services for the T-38C avionics system.
The PWS states that the Department of Defense’s current T-38C inventory consists of 442 aircraft.
Responses to the draft RFP are due Sept. 9.
