Tenable Forms Advisory Board to Ensure Industry Support for Public Sector Cybersecurity Efforts

Cybersecurity company Tenable (NASDAQ: TENB) has established a public sector advisory board for the U.S. market, with the aim of ensuring industry support for public sector efforts to shield U.S. critical infrastructure from cybersecurity threats.

Tenable Senior Vice President of Global Government Affairs James Hayes said in a statement Thursday, “With the establishment of the Public Sector Advisory Board, Tenable is uniting our nation’s top industry and government professionals to share ideas and offer solutions to address the evolving demands of the cybersecurity industry.”

The inaugural members of the advisory board are Hayes himself, Tenable Chairman and CEO Amit Yoran, as well as former government agency leaders Rob Joyce and Mark Weatherford.

Joyce previously served as director of cybersecurity at the National Security Agency and, earlier, special assistant to the president and cybersecurity coordinator at the White House.

Weatherford previously served as deputy undersecretary for cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security and, earlier, chief information security officer in the states of California and Colorado.

Commenting on his selection, Joyce said, “Drawing upon my three decades of comprehensive experience in cybersecurity, cyber operations and intelligence, I am honored to join Tenable’s public sector advisory board.”

For his part, Weatherford said, “Alongside this dynamic group of professionals, Tenable has brought and continues to bring together, I look forward to collaborating and demonstrating the benefits of exposure management to the public sector cyber community.”
