Sparksoft Lands $118M CMS Contract for Advanced Provider Screening System Maintenance, Update

Sparksoft will maintain and update an interactive screening, monitoring and alerting system over a four-year period in support of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The company said its work on the Advanced Provider Screening program is under a $118 million award CMS made on the General Services Administration’s STARS III governmentwide acquisition contract.

APS records aggregated internal and external information about healthcare individuals and organizations and screens more than 4 million active Medicare and Medicaid providers and suppliers to identify ineligibilities and potential fraud, waste and abuse in claims.

Sparksoft will help CMS enhance APS process by providing the agency with management and technical expertise. The company will also conduct Agile transformation and DevSecOps delivery of modern, cloud-based digital services to support system capabilities.

Efforts are aimed at supporting multiple APS capabilities such as ensuring system operations complies with all CMS information technology policies and cybersecurity regulations, improving data quality from public and private sources and enhancing workflows and business processes for agency staff and external stakeholders.
